A breakfast attendant's main responsibility is to provide a clean and well-stocked breakfast area and to ensure absolute guest satisfaction by providing friendly and courteous service, while maintaining an organized and efficient work environment. Essential Functions 1. Act as a concierge for guests. Possess a knowledge of the area working, and the community's offerings. 2. Assists all guests in a sincere, professional, and courteous manner, whenever possible going above and beyond the call of duty to do whatever it takes to ensure absolute guest satisfaction. 3. Sets up breakfast according to Brand operational policies and standards and in compliance with local, county and/or city health department standards to ensure absolute guest satisfaction and safety. 4. Attends to guest needs, taking orders and serving. Ensures food and supplies are continually replenished and presented in an appealing manner. Clears and cleans tables and chairs, checks floor for debris between guests. 5. Maintains clean and well-organized dining and work area. This includes disinfecting all areas where food is prepared and served. 6. Maintains all dispensing machines, operating equipment and serving utensils in a neat and clean manner to ensure maximum job efficiency and an appealing presentation. 7. Organizes storage areas to ensure the quality of the food, implementing first in first out method of food rotation. 8. Plans and prepares for the upcoming week. Check's inventory of supplies, taking action to ensure adequate quantity and quality of products for the week ahead. 9. Proactively maintains the equipment and property of the breakfast area. 10. Demonstrates a working knowledge of all services and facilities of the hotel, as well as the local area to effectively assist guests. 11. Understands and applies all hotel safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees and guests. 12. Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken; also, provides potential solutions to the problems noticed. 13. Ensures that guest issues, whether breakfast or otherwise, are dealt with appropriately. If outside his/her bounds of authority, promptly brings the matter to the attention of hotel management. 14. Proactively looks for opportunities to improve operations. Qualification Standards 1. Ability to be friendly and cheerful; and to interact easily with strangers. 2. Ability to cooperate with and support others. 3. Ability to observe, react quickly and adjust to different guest situations. 4. Ability to cope with stress, showing self-control during difficult situations. 5. Ability to stand on feet for length of shift. 6. Ability to accept directions and priorities from supervisor. 7. Ability to perform job duties with a minimum of disruption to the guests. 8. Ability to maintain order, organization, and attention to detail. 9. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds several times during shift. 10. Ability to work safely with cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, brooms, mops, etc. 11.
