Summary:
Glacier Ear, Nose & Throat Head and Neck Surgery is an independently owned private practice that has proudly served the Flathead Valley for nearly 60 years.
We offer a fun and collaborative work environment and competitive wages in a beautiful location! We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated individual to perform a hybrid of clinical assistant and medical scribe duties.
The ideal candidate has the ability to multitask, communicate clearly and professionally with patients, family members, support staff, and the care team.
Duties include assisting the provider with the clinic visit; greeting and escorting patients to the exam room with courtesy and respect; taking vital signs and assisting with minor procedures.
Candidate needs to be able to think ahead; anticipate what is needed from the provider.
Must be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of basic sterile techniques and infection control procedures, and medical terminology.
As well as accurately relay and record medical information to physician as appropriate.
Candidate will assure that patient visit documentation is accurate and that all regulatory guidelines are met.
Coding will be required as indicated by physician.
Candidate also responsible for sending communication and documentation to referring providers.
The provider expects the candidate to be reliable, dependable, professional, and communicative.
As a clinical assistant and medical scribe hybrid, you will play a vital role in assisting our healthcare providers with documenting patient encounters and ensuring smooth clinical operations.
This hybrid position will allow the individual to have both patient contact as well as remote scribing opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Accurately and efficiently document patient encounters, including medical histories, symptoms, examination findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
Perform patient follow-ups as required by providers.
Collaborate with providers and other medical staff to facilitate seamless patient care and maintain effective communication.
Assist the provider in delivering excellent patient interaction.
Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and equipped with necessary supplies.
Requirements:
The preferred candidate has clinical experience in the medical field and certification as a CMA, but certification in any clinical medical area will be considered.
The ability to think critically, learn quickly, take ownership and value the experience of our patients is paramount.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in a medical field is preferred.
Previous experience as a medical scribe or in a related healthcare field is an asset, but not required.
Excellent typing skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software applications.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Professional demeanor and the ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with ENT- related procedures and conditions is advantageous.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends, as needed.
